About Fox Copy

Hi!

My name is Linda Ogier, and I'm the person behind Fox Copy.

You could in fact, call me the fox!

I have always loved to write, and I have always written.

I chose the name Fox Copy because I consider myself to be a cluey thinker, and when it comes to copywriting I have more than a few tricks up my sleeve.

I'm an ex teacher who spent 13 years in the classroom teaching writing (among other things) before deciding to try something different 4 years ago. That decision set me on my current path.

After writing copy for the websites of various friends and my own website I was asked by a web design firm in the city where I live if I would write content for their websites.

From there I progressed to newsletters, brochures, ads, press releases and all types of written material for businesses and individuals.

As a teacher I was involved in presenting seminars and training sessions to other teachers ( I was part of a special team selected by the Education Department to train teachers in new initiatives), and scripting and performing in a teaching video used by every school in Victoria to demonstrate teaching skills.

The copious amounts of writing I undertook as a teacher - proposals, reports, submissions, applications, presentations, fundraising letters, publicity, designing school brochures - played a large part in my development as a writer.

I've also been trained in many creative thinking methods during the last 10 years - De Bono's Thinking Hats, Extended Brainstorming, Multiple Intelligences, Bloom's Taxonomy, The Thinkers Keys, Thinker's Tool Box, and Graphic Organisers to name just a few. These are now a natural part of my ability to think laterally and come up with unique ideas.

Plus, I've spent countless hours over the last 3 years researching, learning, and refining my copywriting and marketing skills to the hilt, and I'm good at what I do.

I work from home, which makes it easy to get engrossed in my work for as long as I want!

In my spare time I perform on stage in amateur musical theatre (Ballarat is lucky enough to have one of the most beautiful old theatres in the country - heritage listed), and I'm not ashamed to admit I enjoy a good night out singing karaoke!

Writing is my passion, and I get a real buzz out of giving my clients words that really work for them.

The great writer Isaac Asimov said it beautifully when he wrote...

'I write for the same reason that I breathe. If I didn't, I would die.'
